Amira works as a product and visual designer at Stamen. In addition to client work she also oversees the studio’s own marketing and communications design needs.
Amira’s love for data visualization began as a fascination with data storytelling for better science communication. She studied the intersection of visual arts and biology at Bennington College, working to understand the evolutionary basis of consciousness and perception in human and non-human animals. In another life Amira was a marine biologist studying the effects of climate change on the adaptability of marine ecosystems – a past that compels her to always be within close proximity to a body of water, and resulted in a borderline obsession with salt.
She has worked across a range of industries and sectors, from climate policy and renewable energy, to biotech, healthcare, science philanthropy, and autonomous vehicles.
