Community Classes

Our data visualization and cartography classes are small, intimate, hands-on sessions that focus on data visualization as a creative practice – they are not overly formal and impersonal lectures in a big theater. Bring your data and your ideas for custom-tailored delivery and selected content emphasis based on your individual needs. These classes are offered online or in-person at our Mission District studio in San Francisco. Join our mailing list and we’ll let you know when new classes are available!

Working & Designing with Spatial Data ➤

This two day workshop focuses on geospatial data as part of a data visualization interface. You will build a solid foundation in web map design principles, and you’ll gain hands-on experience working with spatial data in JavaScript.

Data Visualization Foundations ➤

In this two day workshop you’ll learn how to present information effectively using interactive data visualizations. You’ll gain critical data visualization literacy, and gain experience building your own visualizations.
