Data Visualization Classes and Workshops
Stamen is offering workshops in data visualization and web mapping at our Mission District studio. If you or your company wants to present data effectively and powerfully, need in-depth background knowledge about the art and science of data visualization, these events are for you! They are small, intimate, hands-on sessions in a studio that's focused on data visualization as a creative practice, not formal impersonal lectures in a big theater. Bring your data and your ideas for custom-tailored delivery and selected content emphasis based on your individual needs.
We also offer on site training classes for companies, universities and NGOs. If you're interested in learning how to do this work at your offices, please get in touch. If you're ready to buy tickets, check to see if registration is open and sign up here! For notifications of future classes, join our mailing list!
In this two day workshop you'll learn how to present information effectively using interactive data visualizations. You'll gain critical data visualization literacy, and gain experience building your own visualizations.
Previous Classes and Workshops
Maps From Scratch was a 2009 E-Tech Tutorial and Where 2.0 Tutorial by Stamen's Michal Migurski and Shawn Allen. We've collected some of our notes and relevant links here where they might be useful to people who didn't attend the tutorial but would like a bit of hand-holding in generating your own maps from geo data.
