What We Made

Stamen collaborated with Spherical Studio to help redesign their custom branded base map and provide design and data expertise for their Living Infrastructure Field Kit. Spherical provides this field kit and other resources to local community groups in Los Angeles to lead workshops around their visions for a more resilient future. In the field kit, their Visioning Tool helps community members visualize environmental stressors and vital resources.

The design deliverables included a new custom, branded vector basemap inspired by the natural colors already in Spherical’s brand palette, as well as a ground-up redesign of their existing satellite basemap. Beyond the basemap, Stamen provided expertise on data layer development, rendering, and styling.
