USCCB, a national membership organization of Catholic bishops in the United States, came to Stamen to help make their data more discoverable. As a 2,000+ year old organization, the Catholic Church has a complex hierarchical organization within its many liturgical rites.

The national map we created includes detailed information about bishops, episcopal regions, dioceses, eparchies, and more for all USCCB members. As part of this effort, we mapped Eastern Rite eparchies and archeparchies for the first time. Design-wise, the Episcopal and Diocesan Map uses meaningful elements of Catholicism in its color palette, iconography, and general terminology.
