City Energy Project looped in Stamen to develop tools to aid cities in communicating commercial property energy usage and trends. City of Seattle further collaborated with us to enhance the Seattle Energy Benchmarking Map building report with the onset of the new Seattle Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) ordinance to help users understand and act on BEPS and related policies. 

Stamen crafted an open-source suite of tools featuring maps and visualizations depicting building energy usage across various metrics, along with building-specific report cards. Designed with accessibility and adaptability in mind, the updated report empowers building owners to take actionable steps toward compliance, aligning with Seattle’s climate goals while simplifying complex information. Beyond Seattle, the platform has been adopted by other City Energy Project partners, including Washington D.C. and Chicago, IL.
