YBCA Bay Area Now 8 – The Future of Birds and Climate
Creating a 60 foot mural about the impact of climate change on birds
We were invited to participate in YBCA’s Bay Area Now show and created two pieces showcasing data from the Audubon Birds & Climate Report. This first piece was a mural, 60 feet long and at the corner of Mission and Third Streets in San Francisco, looking at the impact climate change will have on bird populations in the Golden Gate Recreational Area, just north of San Francisco. We also created a 2-channel supplementary video drawing on similar themes.
The YBCA exhibition showcases visual artists in a broad range of creative practices, including painting, photography, ceramics, textiles, video installation, and digital media. For the first time in its history, Bay Area Now 8 also included architects and designers working at the leading edge of environmental, landscape, and housing design.
