NARAL, the political and grassroots arm of the pro-choice movement, organized the March for Women’s Lives on Washington, D.C., on, April 25, 2004. We designed and built a structure to visually represent both the march’s massive turnout and it’s truly nation-wide reach: a quarter of a million marchers are indexed on the map, and hundreds of people uploaded photos and stories.

Stamen’s history of building interactive maps allows us to riff off our existing code base and pull these kinds of experiences together very quickly. This in turn lets organizations like NARAL build the tools to generate the community and results they need.
